If you are looking for a flashy, fun, no-nonsense, sweet, just point-and-go have a good time trail riding companion… then Tonto is your man!!! He is at the perfect age at only 7 years old, he has already been around and seen lots of things, been hauled, been on lots of rides, been in lots of parades … but he is only 7 and still has his whole lifetime in front of him! This sweet little gelding is great-natured, kind, and so extremely simple and uncomplicated to ride. He is as smooth as they come and suitable for just about any level of rider. If you are sitting on him, you feel extremely secure. He is so naturally smooth moving in all of his gaits, that you would have to practically just pick up and bail off of the side of him to be able to come off of this one!!! He is naturally low-headed and will travel on a relaxed rein and neck rein around – but, you can also pick him up and ride with a lot of contact, and he will tolerate just about anything with new rider’s bumbling around being all over on him, in his face, and in his mouth. He has an adorable personality and loves to be around people. He drops his head for the halter or the bridle to be put on, and will stand there relaxed and patient if you have to fumble around and get organized. He could care less about other horses and never knickers or calls back to the barn, super good about leaving the barn and going out alone. He hauls like a perfect gentleman. If you often ride out alone, then this is the one for you. He is great anywhere in the group and has a huge big ground covering almost running walk to him if you push him and ask for it. He is a unique cross that could ride with the regular horses and also keep up with the gaited horses! He loves the water and does not hesitate to cross the creek or go into the pond, he is sure-footed and handles up and down terrain, creek beds, banks, Rocky areas, and thick wooded trees. He pays attention and navigates where he is going. He is great to catch, bridle, saddle, groom, bathe quiet for the vet and the farrier, and just an all-around gentleman! Prior to being shod, he was barefoot for quite a while, he has really great feet, and could easily go barefoot again if you were just riding around your place locally. His teeth were just done by our equine dentist last month, and he also had his sheath cleaned, his ears preemptively treated for ticks, and was dewormed at that time.
