Butters is a beautiful palomino paint, with a rich golden coat and a long, flowing mane and tail that shine like diamonds in the sun. He’s the kind that catches your eye first, then wins your heart without trying. Under saddle, Butters has an easy, forgiving way of going that makes riders relax without realizing it. He’s calm, patient, and naturally adjusts to his rider like it’s his job (because he takes that job very seriously). From kids to adults, beginners to experienced riders, he’s the type that quietly takes care of his people.
On the trail, Butters is dependable and unfazed. He rides confidently alone or in a group and is happy leading the pack, following behind, or cruising quietly in the middle. Tarps, flags, bouncy balls, obstacles, water crossings, logs, narrow paths, wildlife, traffic, towns, machinery, and new environments are all no big deal to him—he takes it all in stride with a relaxed, “we’ve got this” attitude. In the arena, he’s professionally broke with smooth, comfortable gaits and soft transitions. He rides collected, keeps a nice headset, and is easy to guide one-handed. He’s not in a hurry, not complicated, and not interested in causing drama—he’s here for a pleasant ride and a good day. Butters has also been used around the ranch and has been started roping, proving he’s more than just cute. He’ll step up and work when asked, then happily go back to babysitting duty without missing a beat. On the ground, he’s exactly what you’d expect: easy to catch, good for the farrier and veterinarian, stands tied quietly, loads well, and enjoys attention. He gets along well with other horses and does well in a stall or pasture. If he could carry his own brush, he probably would. Butters will ride bareback, double, or in a halter and stays the same steady, happy gelding every time.
