Crimson is a 12-year-old, 14.3-hand strawberry roan Paint gelding with the kind of quiet, forgiving nature that makes people comfortable from the minute they get on him. He’s gentle, easy and forgiving. You don’t have to ride perfectly or have everything figured out. Crimson gives you time, takes care of his rider and lets you enjoy being horseback. He’s good for the cautious rider. He’s good for the experienced rider. And he’s especially good for the person who says, “I just want to get on my horse and enjoy my day.” In the arena, Crimson rides nicely and knows his job. He neck reins, lopes both ways, stops, backs and moves around easily without making you work for every little thing. Outside is where he really proves what kind of horse he is.He has a nice ground covering walk. Crimson has been used for everyday ranch work, gathering cattle, checking fences and helping with the jobs that need doing. He’s also been through all our goofy ranch obstacles—flags, tarps, noodles, bridges, dragging things and whatever else we decide to throw his way. Take him down the trail and he’s just as dependable. Water crossings, narrow trails, hills, rocks, brush and logs—he handles the country and keeps going about his business. On the ground, he’s simple in all the right ways. He loads and hauls well, stands tied, bathes and is comfortable living in a stall or pasture. Take him somewhere new and he handles it like a horse that’s been around.
