BACON BITS
9-Year-Old Appaloosa Gelding | 14.3 Hands
We probably could have given him a serious, fancy name. But then you look at him. Bacon Bits just fits. He’s covered in one-of-a-kind markings, with a beautiful Appaloosa blanket and a look that’s entirely his own. He’s different, he’s cool, and you’re probably going to remember his name long after you scroll past him. The best part is, riding him is even easier than remembering him. Bacon Bits doesn’t require a complicated set of instructions or an accomplished rider. Climb aboard, gather up your reins and decide where you’re going. He’ll handle the rest. Take the trail nobody else wants to try. Head up the hill. Pick your way through the rocks. Push through the brush, cross the water, step over the logs and keep going. Bacon Bits has the sense to look after himself without constantly needing you to manage every stride. Bring ten friends along and he still doesn’t have an opinion about his position. Put him out front. Drop him to the back. Tuck him somewhere in the middle. He’ll happily travel wherever you leave him instead of spending the entire ride trying to get somewhere else. Then take him home and use him for something completely different. He’s gathered cattle, knows his way around ranch country and is comfortable around cows. Ride him into the arena and you have a horse that will walk, trot and lope nicely, take his leads, guide around, stop and back. He’s not simply a trail horse that tolerates the arena—he actually rides nice in there. Need to ride down the road to get where you’re going? Go ahead. Bacon Bits has been ridden along busy roads and handles cars, trucks and everyday commotion without making you regret leaving the driveway. He clips, hauls, handles easily and is perfectly happy living out in the pasture. There really isn’t much ceremony involved with this horse. Catch him. Saddle him. Pick a direction. Go have fun. That may be the best way to describe Bacon Bits. At 9 years old and 14.3 hands, he’s a great age and a handy size. He has enough experience to be useful, enough training to be enjoyable, and a forgiving nature that makes him suitable for just about any level of rider. And yes, all those spots are pretty darn cool too. Longhorn Ranch | Paicines, California FaceTime and in-person visits available. PPEs are welcome. Nationwide transportation can be arranged.
