Dillion’s Summer Sundown

It’s fixing to be summer and people are going to be in full summer mode. But due to this nasty virus this is going to stop a lot of families from wanting to go out on big vacations around lots of people. So this year why not do a little social distancing in the woods with a nice mare who just happens to be a Summer! Dillon’s Summer Sundown “Summer” is a super stocky built 14.3hh, 13 year old Registered KMSH mare with a lot of the biggest foundation names in the mountain horse industry in her pedigree. She is a gorgeous golden Buckskin with dark black legs, golf ball size dapples and a very thick mane and tail. We bought Summer back in the winter off an older man in Eastern Ky who had raised her. She had been trail rode her whole life by all different levels of riders. Since we have had her everyone in our family has rode her. She is the go to horse for the kids when they want to ride. She is safe for any level of rider. She will walk all day on a loose rein but will gait out when asked and stay in gait. She isn’t a horse you have to hold back or a horse you have to constantly kick to go. Summer is very friendly, likes people and likes attention. She has that meet you at the gate personality. You don’t have to catch her she will catch you! Summer handles quietly. She is easy to clip, wash, groom and great for the farrier. She stands quietly to be saddled and bridled. Always stands perfect to be mounted from the ground or a mounting block. Summer has a very comfortable running walk gait that she does. It is very smooth and can cover a lot of ground without a lot of effort. She also has a very nice canter that she will fall right into and then fall back to a walk. Summer will one hand neck rein, has a good woa and backs up with ease. Summer is a PHENOMENAL trail horse!! This little mare will take care of you. She is one of the most sure footed horses I have ever seen and it’s mostly because she really watches where she goes and eases up and over everything. She crosses all types of water, fallen trees and slippery rocks all with ease. She is great in traffic and around atvs. Wildlife and livestock safe. Not a spooky horse by no means. She likes her job and likes to please. If you are looking for that 1 in a million mare for the whole family here she is.
