He is a stout built gelding standing 14.3HH, he is a 2013 model reg AQHA gelding with one of the best pedigrees that you will find going back to Colonels Smoking Gun on the top and High Brow Hickory on the bottom! He is a shiney bay with a big blaze face that always has that puppy dog friendly look on it. He is one of the easiest horses to be around and ride. Point and go he’s right there in the palm of your hand, riding one handed and soft in the bridle. It doesn’t matter how hot or cold it is he’s going to saddle up gentle and does NOT need ridden every day. Hickory has the kind personally everyone is looking for making him the perfect partner. Hickory is sired by a son of the legend himself Colonels Smokin Gun and he has the best of both worlds being crossed on a cow horse. We have done everything on him from working on the ranch, carrying flags, letting the kids ride him, trails, there isn’t much he hasn’t done. Down the trails he is honest, sure footed on rocky terrain and knows how to handle himself up and down steep hills. He crosses water, bridges and downfall. Tarps, flags, traffic, wildlife doesn’t scare him. Hickory will spin a hole in the ground going as fast or as slow as you ask. He has a big sliding stop when you say whoa and is easily guided one handed. Perfect to take to the ranch riding and ranch versatility shows. Hickory is pretty with his beautiful bay color, big kind blue eyes, and just the perfect amount of chrome. We have tracked cattle with him, started steer stopping and he’s super cowy and has some real interest in cattle.
