Her sire is by a son of “CUTTER BILL” (AQHA hall of fame, 1962 NCHA World Champion & Reserve World Champion in 1963 w/ NCHA lifetime earnings of $35,964) Her dam is by a son of “PEPTOBOONSMAL” (LTE: $180k+, $26+ MILLION DOLLAR SIRE, 2010 NCHA #4 Leading sire & NRCHA Top 15 all time leading sire, equi-stat #8 all time leading cutting sire) and out of a daughter of “DUAL PEP” (LTE: $313,000+, #5 All-Time Leading Sire, Over $25.8 Million in Offspring Earnings).
Ride her every day or 1x a month, she is the same every time. She may be a 2018 model but in the last year she has spent with me, Alice has been incredibly well cultured. This mare has carried me near, far, and many places in between – we’ve checked a few things off my bucket list and have logged more than our fair share of miles from the scenic view of Wyoming Mountains, to gathering cattle in South Dakota, tracking deer in Kentucky and visiting state parks in Tennessee. She crosses creeks, logs, bridges and trail crossing with nothing but ease, going wherever you point her with head low and ears forward! She has a ground covering walk and remains sure footed in even the most unstable terrain. Alice is ranch raised so she gets around like a mountain goat, going right through the most unstable, rocky terrain you can find. Goes right in the water and will swim through or cross it. Steps over fallen trees or big logs, up or down steep cliffs, & rides through brush without panicking about that pesky sticker bush poking her belly.
Alice is a gorgeous mover & has tons of presence in all the right ways, it looks like she floats across the ground. Her steady jog makes it comfortable enough that you’ll want to ride her all day long. She’s always attentive to your cues, and I’m really impressed by how fond she is of going and working. She is not fractious, overly sensitive or in a hurry to rush the ride so you get off her back. However, she is not afraid to step it up if you want to get the job done! Talk about a HUGE stopper – it feels like she melts right into the ground. Backs up, collects, light in the face, started on the turn around, stands quiet for mount/dismount. To tell you the truth, Alice has been super trainable right from the get go. Has absolutely NEVER offered to buck, bolt, or rear either even with extended time off between rides either!
This fancy mare gets an A+ in our program. Therefore, she’s ready to find her forever home. Alice is naturally low headed and rides between the bridle reins.
Stands to be tied, groomed, saddled, bridled, bathed, shod or trimmed, blanketed/unblanketed her all of last winter – you know, all that good stuff! She loads great and is an outstanding traveler! Eats and drinks on the road and never causes an ounce of trouble. She gets along exceptionally well with others out in the pasture and will haul quietly next to them in an open stock trailer too! If you’re not a mare person – That’s great! Neither am I. & Don’t think for a second that I would ever own one if she were not a saint and “Alice” is just that. She’s like having an old gelding around – not moody, minds her own business and is happy to do whatever. Actually, let me say this… I wish that even some geldings were as easy as her. NO nonsense, NO headaches – you get to own a mare without any of the problems of “owning a mare”. She’s got it going on in every aspect! Alice is an easy keeper, doesn’t require any special care, treatments, feeds, etc. She is up to date on ALL care – coggins, dental, farrier, vaccinations, deworming, etc. Has never had any injuries or illnesses and is 100% SOUND and HEALTHY. Alice stands 14.3 hands, has plenty of bone, a big hip, good shoulder/neck, and solid feet that all tie in to make an incredibly well balanced and conformationally correct individual.
I legitimately can’t believe that I am offering this one for sale. From day 1 I knew she was going to be something special & in authentic Alice-like fashion, she did not disappoint! Alice has excelled through every step of my program & her training process, there’s never been a time where I’ve gotten off of her & been disappointed or frustrated with what she gave me that day. She is one that’ll always go the extra mile without having to ask & never leaves you hanging, which is one of many reasons this vibrant red mare has raised the bar for what a horse should be! I cannot wait to meet her new owners and watch the lifetime of adventures they get to experience together, Alice has been an amazing horse to get to train.
