Winston is a handsome dapple gray, 6 year old, registered percheron gelding. Our favorite thing about Winston is that he is incredibly safe. The phrase “Safety First” could quite literally be used as his slogan. Winston is a gentle giant, standing a staggering 18.1h tall! He will happily stand at a mounting block, or let you mount from a fence. Do not let Winson’s size intimidate you, he is a joy to handle, even for children! He is a blast to take out on the trails, easily stepping over down timber, crossing water, and going whatever direction you point him in. Winston is perfect for riders of any age and any level of experience. He is very honest on the ground as well as under saddle, admirably taking care of his rider, allowing you to place all of your trust in him. Winston rides western and bareback, bridled and bridleless, and is as comfortable under harness as he is under saddle. He drives absolute best and is incredibly safe, even for beginners or kids. Winston is easy to catch, saddle, bridle, bathe, shoe (easily picks up all 4 feet), and groom. He does great in a stall, as well as in a pasture with other horses. He rides around in an open field just as honest as he does in an arena. He is absolutely traffic safe, and is unphased by anything you will see riding down main street or a highway on a busy evening. Winston will lope in the correct lead, has a nice stop, stands quietly when cracking a bull whip or shooting a pistol, will walk through all of the obstacles, and stays solid even with time off. He is a great fit for the whole family. Winston is even loved by the farm dogs, who he will also allow to ride him!
