Just as his name implies, Amigo is sure to be your next best friend! Here is a jaw dropping, HIGHLY sought after, B-U-C-K-S-K-I-N that is SURE to get you noticed! When we need a trusty, go-to horse to get ranch chores done, we pull this guy out first. From simply grabbing the mail, to checking waters, fences, cows, and other things of the sort, he has yet to let us down. This horse is the definition of cultured. He’s seen things you’d never imagine; he’s been around more cows, traveled more miles down the trail and through the city than 85% of horses out there… all at the ripe age of 11 years old! Friends, gather round and meet this stunning gelding that we call Amigo! You will be hard pressed to find anything that is more civilized and better behaved than him on the ground. You NEVER have to refresh his memory when it comes to minding his matters, stands as still as a statue and is as quiet as a mouse to be groomed or saddled. Amigo sticks to himself and will stand tied all day and mind his own. No pawing, pacing, or any of the other obnoxious garbage that so many horses bring to the table. Loads and hauls like a pro, you’ll never know he’s back there. Gets along great with others. He stands right between 14.3 & 15 hands, has solid black feet, BIG bone and is sound!!! UTD ON ALL care as well and we have the records to go with. He’s not just a pretty face though, this gelding is broke, broke, broke. He’s got a light, one handed neck rein, and a big stop. He does not spook on the trail, and he is always willing to see new sights. Heck, we have even ridden him down the trail bridleless!! Amigo is always one of our most favored horses to take out on the trails because of how willing he is. He is VERY fond of getting to go explore and adventure; enjoys swimming in rivers, going down & up hills, navigating through rocky terrain, and so much more. We’ve even ridden Amigo through a lively Walmart parking lot during rush hour!! He is sure to keep his rider safe no matter the situation, sure he’s got the cowboy color but more importantly, he’s cowboy cool! Amigo is a PHENOMENAL trail guide. He has guided numerous not so confident horses down steep cliffs, through rushing rivers, and loads of other seemingly scary sights with zero issues. This guy is a trail rider’s dream horse! Amigo has been introduced to numerous new, different landscapes, and he always adjusts to new settings in the blink of an eye. There are a million and one awesome traits I can list about this gelding! However, the trait I admire most is how he’s confident and willing to go over, under, or through any hitch on the trail! He is going to be heavenly for somebody who wants to go see all the sights and scenery. Amigo would be a WONDERFUL horse to take on overnight camping trips!! He has the heart to go wherever you send him, and he wants to please. He adjusts to new places, and he does not get nervous being away from home. Amigo has had many jobs but here’s the rundown: until the age of 7 he was used on a LARGE ranch in central New Mexico. He knows how to get around in the rocks and won’t ever quit you before the job is done. He will sort pairs and load trucks til the cows come home… Pardon the pun. What did he do after he turned 7 you ask? Well, the adventure didn’t end there! Amigo was promoted and was used to be a part of a search and rescue team that travels all over North America. The 77 year old gentleman that owned him rode him through every river, down every holler, and through the thickest forested areas that he could find. To keep it short, I’ll say this… he’s seen more cracks and crevices’ than a seasoned plumber. Unfortunately for Amigo, his “amigo”/”owner” passed away at the beginning of last summer. And in all honesty, he’s for sale because the gentleman’s widowed wife just can’t bear to look at him sitting there day in and day out, waiting for more attention than she can give him. Amigo was her husband’s best friend, hence where he got his namesake. You can clearly tell that this horse is one of quality, it’s a no brainer… She wants to find a home for him where he can get back out there and enjoy life with someone again! If you think you’re the right person to fill those shoes and want to be Amigo’s “amigo”, then don’t miss your shot at him. You’ll be envied by all your friends and neighbors on the back of this handsome dude! He is on a 100% grain free diet, as he stays looking sharp on just grass and hay!! He has been around dogs of all sizes, and he is more than happy to be “amigos” with them. He is levelheaded and does not have vices such as bucking, rearing, setting back, or cribbing. He has sturdy hooves, a LONG, THICK black mane and tail, big hip, and cute head to tie it all in. He is up to date on all paperwork, and he is ready to go. Amigo will come with a clean bill of health and current coggins.
