Army Ranger

Army Ranger, Ranger for short, is his name because he is so brave and bold on the trails that he reminded us of a great soldier that always goes wherever he is sent with courage. When you take one look and have one ride, you will know why that is what we call him. He is a true gentleman in every way imagined. He is trained to park out for you to get on him for easy mounting. He is a 2016, 15 hand 1/2 Percheron 1/2 Quarter Horse dressed in a beautiful very dark liver chestnut color that will just melt your heart. We really love this cross because it takes the the calm gentle demeanor and stoutness of the Percheron and crosses with the Quarter Horse’s athleticism perfectly. He is as steady and as safe as a horse can be. He loves to please and he will stand by your side no matter what you throw at him. He has been exposed to everything on the ranch from tractors, four wheelers, cattle, donkeys, small ponies, dogs, chickens, and more. Ranger is good with all trail obstacles, cracking whips, tarps, bouncing balls, and he will drag anything. My 12 year old daughter uses him to help her rope and start her ponies in the round pen. He has also been used in the branding pen. Ranger does not let anything phase him at all. He has been on several trail rides all over the place and will walk right off that trailer the same as he will when you ride him at home. He will ride right off the ranch alone without causing a fuss, and he will go with a group. He can lead or follow. It does not matter to him. He can be ridden English or western, he is great to ride bareback, and he even pulls a wagon. He has been ridden in lots of parades and he has pulled a wagon in a busy parade. Ranger enjoys jumping, and he will jump anything you point him at. He is a true sweetheart with his loving and calm personality. Ranger is easy to catch in the stall or out in the pasture. He is an in your pocket kind of horse that craves human interaction. He has been roped off of and ridden through herds of cows and horses and never gets excited at all. If you are looking for that confidence builder, he would love to have that job! He will go steady and safely down any trail, through water, over bridges, and is quiet in traffic. He has no bad habits in the barn or outside. Ranger is also good in a herd with other horses. He is a horse that can carry lots of different riders. He is a safe horse for any level rider and even though he is great with the beginner, he is a lot of fun for the more experienced rider as well. He has a very good stop, neckreins or direct reins, and he is soft in the bridle. He also sidepasses and he picks up both leads with ease. Ranger has three smooth gaits that you can ride all day long. We just can’t say enough good things about this gelding. Ranger is good for the farrier and he is UTD on everything.
