Steep climbs, long descents, rocks, brush, narrow trails, downed timber, water crossings and bridges are all comfortably within his wheelhouse. He knows how to pick his way through rough country without rushing and handles changing terrain with confidence and good judgment. ATM is just as dependable when the surroundings change. Wildlife appearing on the trail, dogs, bicycles, traffic and unexpected activity are handled with a level head. He’ll leave the barn alone without looking for company or ride happily in a group without caring whether he’s first, last or somewhere in between. He picks up both leads, neck reins, backs willingly, has a nice stop, and is comfortable through all of his gaits. He is uncomplicated to ride and adjusts well to the person in the saddle. He has also been exposed to flags, tarps, bridges, tires and a variety of obstacles nothing phases him. ATM has earned plenty of his experience doing ranch work as well. He has gathered and moved cattle through big pastures, sorted cattle, been used at brandings, checked fence, opened gates, and spent long days covering country horseback.
