Axel is 12 years old and 13.2 hands, this flashy paint John mule has already earned the education most people spend years trying to put into one. He’s been from Missouri to Arkansas, Texas to Oklahoma, packing riders on camping trips and covering miles of real country. Mountains, flat land, creeks, steep hills, logs, bridges, ditches and traffic—Axel has been there, done it, and doesn’t need a committee meeting before he goes where you point him. But here’s where Axel separates himself from the average trail mule… Put him in the arena and you’ll forget you’re sitting on a mule. Axel is FANCY broke. He walks, trots and lopes beautiful correct circles, picks up his leads, stops, backs and rides around like a good broke horse should. He’s even spent time turning back cattle in the cutting pen. He has a legitimate handle, and that’s something you don’t find every day—especially packaged into one this gentle and safe. Want to carry a flag? Go ahead. Drag a tarp? He doesn’t care. Obstacle course? Point him at it. Confetti cannon? Fine. Shoot a gun off him? Been there too. And when the riding is over, Axel is the kind you actually enjoy having around. He stands tied, loads and unloads, is easy to tack and bridle, handles his ears and feet well, and absolutely LOVES being groomed, bathed and fussed over. Axel isn’t being advertised as a “mule person’s mule.” He’s being advertised for the person who has always wanted a mule but has been afraid to take the leap. First mule? He makes sense.
