10-Year-Old Paint Gelding • 14.3 Hands Bada Bing, Bada Boom—here’s one that’s as useful as he is good-looking. Bada Bing is a striking bay-and-white Paint gelding with a jet-black mane and a black-and-white tail. He stands 14.3 hands and is 10 years old, putting him at a great age and size for someone looking for a seasoned, versatile gelding that has plenty of experience behind him. This is one we’ve enjoyed because you aren’t limited to where you can ride him or what you can go do. Bada Bing has been used on the ranch to gather and move cattle. He is comfortable around cows and ropes and handles the activity that comes along with ranch work. He’s sensible about his surroundings and willing when you give him something to do. Head out of the arena and he’s an enjoyable trail horse. Bada Bing will ride alone or with company and is comfortable leading, following, or riding in the middle of the group. He’ll cross water, navigate rocks and brush, step over logs, travel through steep hills and handle narrow trails. He walks out nicely and takes care of where he’s putting his feet. We’ve also put him through just about every obstacle we can think of. Flags, tarps, bridges, pool noodles, tires, dragging objects, water and logs—he handles them willingly and doesn’t need everything presented perfectly before he’ll give it a try. We’ve ridden him around cars, semis, bicycles, pedestrians, dogs, wildlife and plenty of everyday commotion. He’s had the exposure that matters when you want to get outside the arena and actually go somewhere. Back in the arena, Bada Bing has a nice ride to him. He’ll walk, trot and lope both leads, neck rein, stop, back and turn around. He’s responsive without making you work for every little thing and has enough handle to be enjoyable when you want to ask more of him. If you simply want to cruise around, he’s perfectly happy doing that too. And the things that matter once the saddle comes off are just as easy. He stands tied, tacks up quietly, bathes, clips, loads and hauls well, and is good for the farrier. He’ll stand patiently at the trailer and is comfortable living in a stall or turned out in pasture. What we appreciate most about Bada Bing is his versatility. Ranch one day, trails the next, obstacles on the weekend, or an easy ride around the arena—you don’t have to own four different horses to go do four different things.
