BF GRIFFON OF THE IRISH BOSS“ Griffon” is a 5 year old registered GVHS gypsy gelding standing 15.1hh and stoutly made. If you are looking for your once in a lifetime horse he is the real deal, he rides, he drives, he has been shown in the arena and gone down the trail- he’s a wonderful lesson horses for any level rider and he would surely make one amazing therapy horse too!!! Griffon is undeniably stunning in every way from his coloring to his gorgeous hair and feathers to his build and unique partial blue left eye. I have been around and worked with Gypsies for over a decade now and I can say with 100% certainty that this is the nicest Gypsy I have ever been around from his disposition to his training both under saddle and in the cart he is exceptional in every way! Griffon is easy to handle and respectful on the ground for daily grooming, bathing and tacking up as well as behaved for both the vet and farrier to work on. Under saddle he is very well broke and uncomplicated to ride! He loads into any style trailer and hauls lovely- he offloads in new places quietly and requires no prep to be ridden or driven. While under saddle Griffon neck reins, moves off leg and listens to voice commands and your seat. Griffon side passes both ways, turns on the haunches, leg yields, has an awesome stop and steady back up as well as easy transitions up and down. I have been using him in my lesson program and he has done as little and young as lead liners up to my adult riders who show. Griffon has experience showing breed shows from halter classes to under saddle classes and driving classes as well. He can be ridden western or English and will take a jump with ease! In the cart he is simple to drive and very quiet wether he’s driving down the road or on carriage trails or in the show ring. Let’s talk about how quiet and safe this boy is because when it comes to being gentle Griffon is that- all day long, we have drug sleds, carried flags, opened umbrellas and popped balloons of this boys back and the most he does is a half flinch, he doesn’t shy/side step or even snort he really is just a good minded guy who takes care of his rider no matter how small or how old Griffon adjusts himself to whoever is riding and always keeps a level head. He is a phenomenal trail horse that confidently goes anywhere you point him, he’s crossed covered bridges, gone through deep creek beds and all over rough terrain and trail blazed off the beaten path, he will ride out alone or with others and is comfortable taking the lead or bringing up the rear, Griffon is safe for horses to ride alongside or up behind and is also safe around dogs and other farm animals and equipment. Griffon would make a fantastic therapeutic horse and would truly be an asset for that type program as he can do maximum assist with side walkers on lead line or able bodied lessons with confidence. He could easily fit into an all around program too where he would ride English or western for students and then go for a drive on weekends.
