Blackstone’s Big John

Meet Blackstone’s Big John! John is a 17.1hh uniquely colored rose grey and white painted Drum horse gelding. (Percheron, Spotted draft, Gypsy Vanner X) He is as gentle as a lamb. His mane and tail are very thick and natural wavey and he has beautiful feathering on all 4 legs. John is 4 years old. He’s big, he’s pretty, and best of all he’s quiet! John has a beautiful typey face and a kind and expressive eye. He’s the type of horse who wants to be your friend. John is so much like an over grown puppy dog he will follow you all over the pasture and even come trotting up when called. He truly is a best friend type of horse! Anyone can groom lead and handle him on the ground. He is also very easy to catch outside and plays well with other horses. John is nice and quiet under saddle. He works quietly in all gaits with his ears up while being relaxed and happy. He walk trot canters knows his leads and moves on and off your seat and leg. He is alert but shows calm and capable confidence in everything you ask of him! He has extensive trail miles and will go any direction you point him. He’s been down the roads and swam with the kayak’s. John also has some light mileage over fences and he’s bold and brave to any obstacle inside or out. You do not have to have a good eye to get this boy around!! He’s not reactive to new fences facilities or various types of fill. He has been ridden up and down the back roads of Michigan’s beautiful hunt country and would excel in fox hunting. Overall John is a laid back ride but he will move thru the paces off of your voice. He has been hauled to various parks and schooling shows and is very level headed in new places! John is also broke to drive and will work happily in a team or alone.
