Blue Oakley

I would like to introduce you to Blue Oakley or Oakley as we call her around the farm. She’s as genuine as they come and the definition of a gentle giant! She stands a solid 16.2hh at 4 years old. She is a uniquely colored true blue roan. You will not see a more beautifully colored horse. Her conformation is solid and correct. She has good bone structure and great feet. This girl is the real deal! She is by the legendary sire Minnesota Blue Boy and her mother is a Quarter horse Friesian cross. She has a sensible head on her shoulders and a heart of gold. At 4 years old her experience is amazing. She’s been ridden down the road, around the farm, in the ring, out on the hunt field, and has been out swimming with kayaks. Oakley loves the water, there’s nothing she won’t cross and if a swim is involved, even better in her book! She’s a sporty girl with a soft mouth and 3 balanced gaits. She can pick up both canter leads from the walk and her breaks are great. Oh, did I mention she’s as smooth as sitting on your favorite couch! She stands for mounting and dismounting anywhere from a trampoline, to a picnic table, to a mounting block. She works on and off leg and seat pressure. She also loads, hauls, ties, and pickets. This is a HARD type to find with her tranquil yet courageous disposition and amazing color and conformation. She has completed our desensitization program and will carry the flag, umbrella, walk over bridges, tarps, drag logs, ect. Oakley has been ridden in several state and metro parks in Michigan and Ohio. She is no stranger to a day in the woods she has been exposed to wildlife, woods ect. She will bravely take the lead or bring the horses in from the back. You pick her place and she will happily take it. Oakley has been ridden all over the fields and back roads of Michigan’s beautiful hunt country. She’s been on several hunter paces as well! This girl shows potential to be a fox hunter’s dream mount. She has also been started over fences and jumps in fantastic form. She holds a steady, rhythmical canter to the jumps and is not one to shy from anything. She’s spent her summer working in our camp program and was a favorite for many. The possibles are endless for this girl she is very user friendly and has been exposed to a bit of everything.
