BOURBON

BOURBON

13-Year-Old • 14.3 Hand • Dark Palomino Gelding

AGED TO PERFECTION — SMOOTH, STEADY & EASY TO ENJOY.

There’s something to be said for a good, seasoned gelding, and Bourbon is exactly why. He’s gentle, easy to get along with and has that comfortable, uncomplicated feel that lets you quit worrying about your horse and simply enjoy your ride. Bourbon has a nice walk-out and comfortably covers country without needing to be pushed every step. He walks, trots and lopes nicely, takes his leads, neck reins, stops and backs. He’s responsive without being overly sensitive and has a very pleasant feel in your hands.

Take him outside and he’s right at home. Bourbon will trail ride alone or with a group and is comfortable leading, following or riding anywhere in between. He handles hills, water, rocks, brush, steep or narrow trails and rough country. He’s been around traffic, dogs, bikes and the everyday commotion you may encounter when you leave the arena. He’s also been around cattle and knows his way around ranch work. Gather cattle, check fences, open gates or spend the day covering country — Bourbon is happy to go along and do his job. Flags, tarps, balls, noodles, bridges and other obstacles are all part of his experience. He’s the type you can take somewhere new, unload and go enjoy your day.

At home, he’s just as uncomplicated. Bourbon is easy to catch, saddle and bridle. He stands tied, bathes, clips, loads and hauls well and is good for the farrier. He can live comfortably in a stall or pasture and gets along well with other horses. At 14.3 hands, Bourbon is that handy size so many riders appreciate, and his rich dark palomino coloring certainly doesn’t hurt either. He is one handsome gelding. But his color isn’t what makes Bourbon special. It’s the fact that riding him is simply enjoyable. Whether you want a dependable trail partner, a horse to use around the ranch, something to take camping and explore new country on, or just a good gelding waiting at the gate when you feel like riding, Bourbon has so much to offer.
