CAPTAIN

Meet Captain, a 4-year-old dapple grey gelding standing a solid 16.2 hands. He’s the kind of horse that makes you smile the second you see him: big, athletic, and full of presence, whether you’re looking to ride or hitch him up to drive. Captain has confidently worked through our obstacle course; he’ll carry a flag, drag a tarp, and even stand quietly while you snap a bullwhip off his back. He’s the same steady partner whether you’re out alone or in a group, and he’s shown himself to be careful and reliable with a variety of riders. At 16.2 hands with good bone and a sturdy build, he gives any rider a secure, comfortable feel in the saddle. On the ground, he’s just as easy. Catchable, mannerly, and happy for the attention. No vices, no drama; just a straightforward gelding who gets along with other horses and respects fences whether he’s turned out or stalled. Under saddle, he offers a nice walk, trot, and canter. He goes in a snaffle, stays soft in the mouth, and is comfortable around the usual farm sights and sounds—dogs, machinery, water, wildlife. He trailers quietly and stands patiently when tied. And when it’s time to drive, he’s just as solid and willing. If you’re looking for a dependable, versatile horse that rides and drives and can be enjoyed by the whole family, Captain is a strong candidate. Vet checks are always welcome at the prospective buyer’s expense. For more information or to schedule a meeting with Captain, contact Dayton at 585-734-0169. Captain is located in Warsaw, New York
