Checkers is a 13-year-old black and white paint gelding standing at 15.1 hands. With his gentle demeanor and fun ride, he’s ready for a new adventure! This barefoot gelding is up-to-date on vaccines, dewormer, and farrier work. Checkers excels in a variety of settings: beach, trail, obstacles, and arena. He is adaptable for both western and English disciplines and would shine as a cute hunter/jumper, effortlessly flying over cross rails. He rides well in a junior cow horse bit or a snaffle and handles the bit comfortably, despite a few crooked teeth. He moves off of leg with ease and rides quiet. In the arena, Checkers walks, jogs, and lopes smoothly and has a nice, responsive stop. While he can be a bit anxious when tied to the trailer initially, he quickly settles. He will jump in any trailer you point him at and haul with no issues to new places! He has begun tracking the roping sled and shows significant potential with the right person.
