CHEYANN

CHEYANN

4-Year-Old Bay & White Paint Mare • 15.1 Hands

Cheyann may only be four, but somebody forgot to tell her she’s supposed to act like a young horse. This beautiful bay and white Paint mare stands 15.1 hands, and she has impressed us over and over again with just how calm, kind and sensible she is. She has the looks that get your attention, but spend a little time with her and you’ll quickly realize her disposition is what makes her truly special. Cheyann rides collected and pretty with a nice walk, trot and lope. She is soft, willing and enjoyable in the arena, but some of our favorite rides on her have been far away from the comfort of an arena. We have taken Cheyann to the beach, through downtown, alongside traffic and out on the trails, and she has handled it all with remarkable composure. Cars going by, people walking around, noise, commotion, unfamiliar surroundings and plenty happening around her simply don’t seem to rattle this mare. She stays calm, pays attention to her rider and takes things as they come. There have been plenty of moments where we’ve had to remind ourselves that she’s only four. She has handled situations with more grace and good sense than horses twice her age. Cheyann also has ranch experience. She has been around cattle, gathered and lead-steered, and is comfortable having a job to do. She is naturally willing and seems to enjoy learning something new. What makes Cheyann exciting is that you don’t have to wait years to start enjoying her. Use her just the way she is, or take this beautiful foundation and make her into the horse you’ve always dreamed about. She has the mind, size, ability and willingness to go in so many directions. Trail ride her. Ranch on her. Continue developing her in the arena. Take her toward a performance career. And with her movement, size and striking Paint markings, put her in English tack and I think she’d look absolutely incredible. Most of all, Cheyann is just kind and gentle. She is pleasant to be around, wants to please and has a naturally quiet demeanor that is difficult to teach. Beautiful is easy to see in a picture. A mind like Cheyann’s is something you have to experience. At only four years old, she already has the calmness and confidence we usually hope to find in a horse with many more years behind them.
