Introducing Duke — a 7-year-old Gypsy cross paint gelding standing a solid 15.0 hands, and the kind of horse that rarely comes available. Striking, one-of-a-kind looks paired with a flowing mane and tail make him impossible to overlook, but it’s his mind and talent that truly set him apart.
Duke is exceptionally kind, quiet, and willing, with a natural desire to please. He’s been a dependable ranch partner—checking cattle, horses, and fences—and has countless miles outside. He’s a confident point-and-go gelding that rides out alone or in a group, willingly leaves the herd, and stays steady no matter the job or setting.
This gelding is as seasoned as they come. He’s sure-footed in the roughest terrain, confidently crosses creeks, rivers, bridges, logs, brush, and obstacles without hesitation. Duke has been ridden extensively in traffic and proved himself beyond his years during his first trip to the Fort Worth Stockyards on a busy Friday, taking crowds, carriages, loud music, and heavy traffic completely in stride.
Used weekly at the sale barn, Duke excels at penning back cattle, sorting, and loading trucks. He understands a full day’s work and handles it with a great attitude every time. In the arena, he’s soft in the bridle, naturally low-headed, stylish, and correct, with smooth transitions at the walk, trot, and lope. He’s refined enough to go English and stand out just as easily as he shines in Western tack.
Duke approaches every new experience with quiet confidence and maturity. He’s the kind of gelding that elevates any program—equally suited for ranch work, trail riding, town, arena work, or simply owning something truly special.
