Jake is hands down the most broke mule we have ever owned- Jake is absolutely the epitome of a once in a lifetime mule without exception. Jake is just coming 6 years old and stands a well made 14.3 hands tall and is sound in every way. The mule has had extensive professional training and was even a competitor in the Missouri Mule Makeover. Without a doubt this mule boasts a résumé that most people can’t even shake a stick at. Jake has a puppy dog personality and loves to be loved on and is easy to handle on the ground from grooming, saddling and a gentleman for the vet and farrier too. Under saddle you just aren’t going to find many like him-period. Anyone that can hold the reins can ride this mule- kids, grandmas, husbands or even a flat lander city boy. Jake is kind, QUIET and very simple but also VERY talented and well broke. He’s adjustable to the level of rider on his back and can really step it up for someone who wants a mule with fine tuned buttons. Jake is soft in his face and rides collected in contact. He has a great back up, easy transitions and the most beautiful one step lope you can ask for on a quarter Horse let alone a mule. Jake knows how to spin, side pass, leg yield, haunches in, shoulder in, counter arc circle and so much more- he even rides bridleless!!! We have carried a flag, roped, jumped arena jumps and naturals, cracked whips and shot all different types of guns off of Jake – he is virtually unflappable. When it comes to trail you just can’t ask for a nicer mount he’s steady as an oak and as sure footed and smart as a good mule should be out on the trail and off the beaten path. He will ride out alone or with others and is well mannered and polite and is even safe around dogs, other farm animals and on the hard road in traffic. Jake is the type of mule you can show one weekend in anything from ranch riding to mounted shooting, cow sorting or dressage/jumping and then the next weekend take him camping in the mountains. I really can’t say enough good things about this extraordinary creature. We believe his video will show all his attributes well and you’ll love him just as much as we do! Jake is also good for being clipped and loads and hauls into any style trailer and hauls to new places and off loads without prep or being nervous in new places. This one is going to be very hard to part ways with but we know he will bring the next person as much joy and confidence as he has us.
