KF Soldier of Fortune “Soldier” is 2013 German Riding Pony standing 14.2h. He was branded, inspected, and booked by RSPI. He is by the famous GRP sire, Belafonte d’Avalon and out of the Connemara mare, Kaleidoscope’s Megan. Belafonte d’Avalone is known for his impeccable conformation, movement, and character. Soldier certainly doesn’t fall short in these areas himself. It’s no wonder why Belafonte’s offspring are so highly sought after and here is a rare opportunity to own one yourself. Whether you are looking for a serious pony hunter and eventual Pony Finals contender or the world’s most gorgeous trail mount, Soldier is your guy. He is a true all around horse and steps up to the plate no matter what you ask of him. Under English tack, Soldier is a super star. He is a big, flashy mover and is one to certainly get you noticed in the ring. He has a natural motor with good rhythm and can easily walk the lines. Soldier exhibits three beautiful gaits including a canter that is to die for. He moves off your seat and leg pressure effortlessly. Soldier is certainly gamey when it comes to fences. He is happy to plod around the cross rails but will gladly pick up the energy and tackle the bigger courses with ease. He is extremely versatile and could clean up in hunters, jumpers, the dressage ring, or the cross country field. If the English saddle isn’t really your cup of tea, don’t worry. Soldier is well versed in the basics of western riding and taking it easy on the trails. We have trail rode Soldier all over from Florida, Missouri, Kentucky, and Southern Indiana. He never misses a beat! He is sure-footed, will lead or follow, rides out by himself or with friends, and will cross anything in your path from logs and ditches to water and the ugliest of muddy patches!
Soldier is traffic safe and we’ve taken him on many trips into town whether that be to the gas station for an ICEE or to the local diner for some lunch! Just tie him to the hitching post and he will patiently wait on you! If you like a BIG personality, you will easily fall in love with Soldier. He is super in your pocket and absolutely loves treats, pets, and will stand forever to be groomed and loved on. He is the first one to meet you at the gate and will follow you all over the pasture. He currently gets turned out in a small herd of geldings at night and gets along well with the others. He stalls well and is very quiet to have in the barn. He stands well for the farrier, clips, bathes, and trailers easily.
