He is quiet, safe, and genuinely enjoys getting out and going places. The type of horse that makes riding fun whether you are a beginner learning the ropes or an experienced rider who appreciates a dependable partner. Around the barn Mater is exactly the kind you want. He ties quietly, clips, hauls well, and stands patiently for the farrier. He has excellent ground manners and is simply easy to be around. Under saddle he rides around with confidence and balance. In the arena he lopes nice correct circles, has a good stop with a smooth slide, and performs a simple turnaround. He stays relaxed and willing, making him comfortable and enjoyable for a wide range of riders. Outside the arena is where Mater really shines. He has been used to gather cattle, ride through creeks and ponds, and navigate obstacles with ease. Trails, rough country, water crossings, and new places are all taken in stride.
