Mosby

Mosby is an 8 year old John mule who stands a touch under 14.3 hands tall, he has a gorgeous dapple grey coat and is as dog gentle and safe as you can ask for. Let me preface this write up by saying this is undeniably the nicest mule I’ve ever come by not only is he gentle and a looker but he is as broke as any performance horse you’ll find out there. Mosby neck reins and moves off leg easily and willingly. He spins both ways, sides passes, leg yields, moves his haunches and shoulders as well as has a nice sit down stop and backs up with smooth cadence. Mosby can be ridden completely bridleless (no neck rope) all off seat and leg cues!! Just off leg Mosby will steer, spin, walk/jog/lope, stop and back up!! Mosby is also easy to ride English and will jump cross rails and verticals as well as natural obstacles out in the woods on through the field! He has a smooth jump with no refusal to him. Mosby has a ton of training and it really makes this boy shine no matter where you put him or what saddle you ride him in. Out on trail he is confident and easy to point and shoot, you can trail blaze over logs and down embankments or hit the hard road and ride along side traffic. Another awesome thing about Mosby is he’s great around dogs and doesn’t mind them tagging along on the trail ride either. He has been over wooden bridges, jumped up on big boulders and ridden around wild game and had no issues. He will work a gate from the saddle and is great alone or in a group, he doesn’t bite or kick other horses and is fine if you ride up along side him or directly behind him. Mosby has been exposed to many obstacles from tarps to flags, sleds and giant beach umbrellas as well as a flying drone over his head, has had a rope swung off him and a bull whip cracked off him too! We have pushed and tracked cows on him and also roped cows and dallied them off and he will hold them for doctoring etc. Mosby has been on over night camping trips and is patient and behaved on a picket line as well as tied to a trailer or tree for the night. He gets along with other mules and horses and is easy to catch when turned out, he stalls neat and quiet and has no vices such as cribbing or weaving when in a stall. He is good to handle his feet, good for the vet, easy to bathe and clip, quiet and patient while grooming and saddling and ties on cross ties or single without fuss. Mosby loads into any style trailer and hauls like a charm, he requires no prep in new places- never needs to be lunged and is the same mule whether you’re at a show, weekend trail ride or home. The possibilities are endless with this one. He is kid safe, beginner safe, grandma safe you name it!! You’ll be hard pressed to find another with his looks but more importantly his great mind and absolutely fantastic training. He’s is comfortable in all gaits, takes leads and over all just is down-right special.
