Current bid: $3,500.00
If you’re looking for a true all-around pony who gets up every day ready for anything, meet Mulligan! Mulligan loves to go places and do all the things. He’s the kind of pony that happily goes from kid lessons to adult schooling rides to ‘beverage consumption trail rides’ without missing a beat. Safe, polite, and uncomplicated on the ground and under saddle, he’s a confidence builder without being dull. Although we primarily ride him in English/Jumping tack, he has also been ridden in Western tack. He will go exactly the speed you want: English trot or Western jog, Canter to jump a cross-country fence or Lope quiet circles on a long rein. He “gallops” cross-country and slow jogs bareback. (And by “gallop” I mean he is absolutely convinced he’s the next Secretariat and we won’t tell him any different.) One minute he’s getting gritty and competitive playing horseball, the next he’s quietly standing while kids practice ‘around-the-world.’ (See ‘Good Boy, Mulligan’ video link below!) Mulligan loads himself, trailers like a pro, stands perfectly for the farrier, and clips without drama. He enjoys jumping a course, then happily walks out on the trail. Currently used in kid lessons, but he’s a fun, balanced, and easy ride for adults as well. He has schooled over fences up to 24” and has a solid understanding of shoulder-in, haunches-in, and leg yield. Ready to show Training Level dressage or at an open show in Horsemanship, Equitation, or Pleasure. Mulligan is the rare pony that can truly do it all. He has a great brain, a great attitude, and just enough pony confidence to keep things fun. Ponies like this don’t come along often! “Why is he for sale?” My business plan involves breeding, raising, starting, and training ponies to become well-socialized, happy partners for adult amateurs and kids. I can’t keep them all for myself and the banker makes sure I stick to the business plan. “What does he eat?” 1 cup Platinum Performance GI and 1# Purina Enrich “What are his living arrangements?” Outside 24/7, as much as possible, weather dependent. Currently with 2 other geldings. Not the boss but doesn’t get picked on. Still young, so likes to play on occasion. “Is there anything he is afraid of?” Missing dinner. That’s about it. “Does he have any vices – cribbing, chewing, biting, etc.?” No. He may paw in the cross-ties on occasion, but that is remedied with a short correction. “Is he up-to-date on teeth, deworming, vaccinations, etc.?” Yes. All of the above.
