Peptos Pretty Lena, or “Albus” as he’s affectionately known, is a 13yr old, 14.3hh registered AQHA gelding. He is an extremely kind gelding with a ton of knowledge under his belt that would fit in any barn with any rider! Whether you’re an experienced rider wanting a solid mount or a beginner needing something smooth and easy to give you your confidence; Albus is the gelding for the job. Albus was bred, raised, and trained by Fischer Farms in Wagner, SD. His sire is NRCHA Futurity Champion Peptos Pretty Pep and his dam is a daughter of Sneakin Lena (LTE $32k+ PE $300k+). After getting his start in SD, Albus went on to be used for sortings, ranch work, and leisurely riding for the next 9 years with an older gentleman. This gelding has all the right moves for an experienced rider to have a lot of fun on him, but he’s so easy to ride that a beginner can get on him and not be over mounted. Albus rides one handed on a loose rein, side passes, turns around correctly, and has a fantastic stop. He’ll ride through water, over logs, down steep terrain, and enjoys just walking down the trail as much as he does anything else. He’s level headed in new places, rides the same in an arena as he does out in the open, is traffic safe, has been ridden in grand entries, and will even carry a flag while riding bridleless. If you’re looking for a horse to take to ranch horse competitions Albus could easily be entered into the rail, pleasure, versatility, reining, and trail classes and do well in them. This is an ideal mount for all experience levels, especially a beginner or youth needing a fun horse to learn all the correct ropes on. He’s a straightforward ride that is very easy to get along with and has extremely smooth gaits. Albus has great ground manners. From grooming to saddling, he stands quietly for it all. He loads/unloads like a gentleman and gets a long with everyone in the herd from mares to ponies to babies. He has never taken a lame step barefoot or shod nor has needed to receive any type of maintenance care. He is completely blemish free and is UTD on all routine care.
