Rastus

Here’s an amazing gelding that comes around once in a lifetime!! Rastus is a 15.1, five year old crossbred gelding with looks to kill. His overo roan coat is as slick and shiny as they come and his movement is sure to impress any crowd. Rastus has been in our program for a year now where he has exceeded all aspects of our program. He knows all the tricks and trades and is ready to take on anything. This gelding is the kind you fall in love with before you ever swing a leg over him. He is gentle and willing and will always be excited to see you. He is easy to catch no matter the pasture and is fine to stay stalled. He will greet you either way and will ride off quietly after being kept up. Rastus will stand quietly tied or ground tied to be groomed, saddled, clipped or bathed and does not give any fuss to the farrier. He is also used to hobbles. You can ride him off from the barn or easily load him in the trailer to haul and he won’t blink an eye. Rastus makes mounting easy with the snap of your fingers as he will side pass up to anything for mounting and stand quietly until asked to ride off.
Take him through the steepest hills or flattest land and he will conquer it all. Rastus has been extensively trail ridden through the hills, woods and roads of Kentucky where he is used to all wildlife and is not one to spook. He is extremely surefooted and maneuvers softly through any brush, rocks and hills. He watches his feet nicely and will cross logs and water with no fuss. Pack him down or pony off of him and he will still move swiftly through any terrain. He has also been used to work cows where he will truly impress you with his calmness around whips, guns and ropes. He even has no problem dragging calves. Rastus can be ridden alone or in any large group where he will have no problem leading or following.
His ride makes him a first choice every time. He neck reins beautifully and has an extremely soft trot that you are sure to have no problem sitting. He will walk, trot and lope on a loose rein and has a nice stop. Rastus is extremely broke with all the buttons to move his shoulders, ribs and hips out. He side passes and lopes both leads in a nice, slow lope and is truly a dream to ride. If that doesn’t impress you enough, take his bridle off and he will do it all again BRIDLE-LESS. Or, hook him up cart and he will pull anything.
