RM PEPS GUNPOWDER is an AQHA steel grey gelding that is 4 years old and 14.3 hands tall. His bloodlines go back to some of the greats in the cow horse / ranching world. Big names like PLAYGUN, PEPONITA, TANQUERY GIN, and MR. GUNSMOKE. Gunpowder is the definition of calm and gentle. Don’t let his age fool you, he is better behaved and more broke than any seasoned teenaged gelding out there. This boy rides low headed and very correct. He was professionally started and has all the fundamentals of reining training. Gunpowder is very soft in the bridle and responds to leg pressure without effort. He has had natural horsemanship training as well, and is very soft and supple on his back and respectful on the ground. Gunpowder never gets fresh, has ZERO spook and is as close to bombproof as a horse can get. He has seen the ball, tarp, and other obnoxious places and noises. He has carried the flag and isn’t phased by a thing. Gunpowder has also been in heavy traffic and is always safe, and calm. He has been out on many, many trails in all different places and is completely content just moseying along. Going through any water, washout, or obstacle. He’s a seasoned veteran when it comes to anything out in the public, dogs, bridges, sirens, you name it, you don’t have to worry about it riding Gunpowder. He has also been used to gather cows out in big hill country and branded a few in the corral. We have currently been tracking cattle in the team roping pen, and he shows big time promise in that aspect as well. Gunpowder has a solid start in the ranching world and will be a great ranch horse or rope horse with his willing-to-please nature. On top of all that, he is the perfect candidate to be someone’s go to trail companion, he would fit that person who rides twice a month, or everyday doesn’t make a difference to him, he’s guaranteed to be the same horse every time. This horse could easily be taken in any direction, with his hard to find calm nature, naturally honest, and broke demeanor, and also he has an amazing pedigree. Gunpowder stands patiently while tied and saddles up with ease. He loads great stands tied in cross ties or tied out. Gunpowder is great for the farrier, clips, bathes and great for the vet.
