Taris Crazy Cat earned her barn name Barbie simply from her gorgeous color, big round hip, and stocky physique. No matter where this mare goes she always turns heads as soon as she walks out of the trailer! Barbie may only stand a touch over 14.2 hh but, don’t let her size fool you she is built like a brick house and can out perform most horses much larger than her! She is also heavily reined cowbred and most of the more competitive horses in this discipline including the notorious. HIGH BROW CAT (Barbie boasts on her pedigree) stood half a hand shorter than Barbie is! With the foundation Barbie has on her she would be perfect for just about any discipline and she would make one heck of a future broodmare prospect down the road. She has been started on the flag, live cattle and shes also has been roped off of as well. She is a very willing responsive partner and has great verbal cues for when less experienced riders ride her. Barbie has an incredible knack for adapting to her riders riding ability and can go from carefully toting around a small kid to chasing down a cow without missing a beat. She has a smooth walk/trot/lope, knows how to change leads well, has an awesome sliding stop, a quick CORRECT spin, does rollbacks, and can be ridden with or without spurs or even a bit! She is a well broke mare that has been used for riding lessons in the arena or out on the trail! Barbie has also been on a 4 day 3 night trail ride at Pleasant Hill LAke Park where she put in over 35 miles. During that trip she was ridden by some beginners as well as some intermediate riders without issue. On one of the rides Barbie completed she rode all the way to Mt.. Geez during which she crossed roads, rivers, passed by cars/trucks, and went through some very rough terrain. Barbie is a very brave mare and will go any direction you point her. She is also very trustworthy when crossing a rivers, bridges, logs, muddy spots, up/down steep hills, or just through rough terrain in general. She also been ridden in English tack and will even go over jumps without hassle. Barbie has also been ridden by kids as young as 7 years old and lesson students are even able to practice getting her to bow on command, have ridden COMPLETELY bridleless, and even bareback without issue. Barbie will tie on a highline overnight, cross over over any obstacle and has very good manners. We have lots going on at our facility like tractors, cats, kids, dogs, side by sides, and even a back hoe and shes never been bothered by any of it. Barbie is a super sweet mare that gets along with just about any horses, even drafts, weanlings and ponies.
