Let me introduce you to Tex! A 2009 Draft-Cross Gelding, 15.2hh, Jet Black, Weighing 1250lbs…He will be as big as Texas with his elegant but heavy foot and bone, and with just enough feathers to make him very flashy!! There is nothing we would change about Tex, he’s carrying the whole package! He is a been there done that type gelding. Tex was born and raised on a huge cattle operation in Washington where he was used extensively in EVERY aspect of ranch work. From branding, sorting, to doctoring yearlings outside. Our favorite thing about this gelding is he has been exposed to literally every noise and object there is and NOTHING WILL BOTHER HIM !! We have drug tarps, carried flags, bounced the ball by him and he just stands there like a shot dog! He is the definition of honest and reliable!! We believe Tex will be great for any level rider! He will lope beautiful collected circles, with smooth gaits and rays transitions, he gives to pressure, and pivots on his haunches. Tex will be one handed broke and really wants to please with whatever task you put in-front of him. Being an outstanding trail horse is also on his resumé ! Just pitch him the reins and he will mosey along at any pace! He’s been to town several times, and doesn’t bat an eye at any commotion! Tex also loves people and attention! He has the biggest personality, sweet, gentle and knowledgeable. He loves to be groomed and adores being fed cookies! If I had to fault this great gelding in anyway it would be that he will weave if in a very small pen for days at a time, so we keep tex turned out or in a bigger pen! But that does not affect his attitude or ability in any way!
