Twister

One word that comes to mind when we think of Twister is:” Incredible”. This true, all around horse is one that had captured the heart of Ezra when he was just two years old and has been with him for three years doing all the training on him. Docs Smart Twister is a 2018, 14.3 hand sorrel gelding that shines like a new copper penny any time of the year. He is by JW Cow Tippin Cat, by Latigo Cat, by the $40 million dollar NCHA Producing Stallion High Brow Cat. He is out of Hickorys Senorita that goes back to the Equi-Stat Elite $42 Million dollar producing stallion and AQHA hall of famer, triple crown NCHA winner Smart Little Lena. Twister has been fully trained and brought through our program from his start. He was taken to the CMSA futurity spring of 2022 and did not blink an eye in all the new arenas and extensive activity at these shows and guns being fired in lots of different arenas. He would be a horse that we would say has more whoa than go and that definitely matches his personality as an easy going laid back friend. He has one of the kindest eyes, and truly aims to please you in all that he does no matter what you ask him. He has been on lots of different trail rides in large groups, with different riders and always just puts one foot in front of the other giving his rider a great time out on the trail. He has been used to do some ranch work where he pasture roped calves to help vaccinate and treat sick ones. He has always been a horse that we could trust to put different level riders on as he will adjust to the rider with no problem. He loves attention and will come running when you call him in from the pasture. He has three easy to ride gaits, and one of the smoothest trots and canters’ around. He has an effortless lead change, and may excel in the ranch riding ring with his ground covering extended trot and beautiful uphill canter. He stands well for ground tying and is easy to groom, clip, tack and does wonderful for the farrier and the vet. Twister added a new job to his resume where he was one of the equine stars in a Christmas show in Indiana in December of 2022. He participated in a drill team performance with all the lights, smoke, music and live dancers of a show carrying a flag. The large clapping crowds did not bother him and he didn’t mind strutting his stuff with his beautiful long extended trot in the ring. We also have ridden him English, bareback and bridleless, and he does it all in style.
