Will has a cousin that is a total beginner and doesn’t even know how to put a halter on a horse and we trust Willy to take care of him. We let him ride Willy all over downtown Fort Worth on a Saturday night where it’s packed full of people and heavy traffic and Willy took care of him and went wherever he pointed him. Willy is the barn favorite by far. Willy is our go to lesson horse at the ranch because anyone can ride him. If you can hold the reins in your hand you can ride this gelding. Willy is the brokest crossbred we have ever seen. His lead departures are perfect, he has a huge stop, and a beautiful turn around on him. You can side pass him over to any gate to open/close it. Willy has seen more outside miles than most 80 year old ranchers. No matter what you encounter on this gelding he will handle it like a champ. The 8 year old girl that lives next door to us hauls him to the play days on the weekends where he packs around 3 or more kids through all the play day events. This gelding has more patients than any horse we have ever seen. All the kids will walk out to catch Willy and he will walk right towards them and put his head on the ground so they can put his halter on. They will lead Willy to the nearest fence and climb on him. They ride Willy all over the ranch bareback in a halter. Willy has gone on overnight fishing expeditions where he packed through the mountains. Willy is as sure footed as they make them. This gelding is such a smooth ride you can spend hours upon hours in the saddle. We would trust Willy with anyone in any situation! You will wear out your truck driving around trying to find one like him. Willy is dapple grey and stands at 15.3 hands tall making him desirable for anyone to look at.
