Willy

“Willy” has been our go-to using gelding for the past 6 months, he is everyone’s favorite and is as solid, consistent, and no drama as they come. When the 1883 stunt crew was in town…they borrowed Willy for a couple nights out on the town, and did a ton of stunts off of him up and down the street…and picked up partiers on him, at one point we found him with one man in the saddle, one on his hip…and another girl standing on his hip…walking down the streets. He is a saint and will literally tolerate just about anything you throw at him. A friend of ours was short head horses during his busiest season, and Willy got borrowed out and used for 60 days to turn pen after pen of steers daily for the heel horses, and he will literally go all-day with zero complaints. You can leave him turned out all month, then go grab him out of the pasture and use him all day. He is about as low maintenance and easy as they come. Most of Willy’s life has been an outside using horse, he is a solid outside using horse, has been to countless sortings and brandings and has doctored out in the wide open. He has mostly been used here in Texas and Oklahoma, but has also been to Florida in the marsh land. He is gritty and will go for days with no complaints. He has also ran barrels as a back-up horse before, and we used him in the local match horse races this past fall. Willy has absolutely no vices or bad habits and is always perfect to walk out and catch and saddle anywhere. He is an easy keeper, always been wormed, shod, and has his teeth done on a regular schedule. He will stand quietly anywhere for hours, hops right on the trail when you point him at the door, gets along with any other horses, is happy kept in the barn or turned out, dead quiet to saddle, great for the farrier and to pick his feet, loads in the wash rack everytime, drops his head to have his head hosed off, great about his ears, easy to bridle. We encourage potential buyers to please come and try Willy in person – Even if you are not the winning bidder, we would love to meet you and your family, and we may be able to help you locate a horse in the future. Our time available during the holiday season, (especially in the evenings and over the weekends) is EXTREMELY limited. However, we have many, many hours blocked off and dedicated for potential buyer’s appointments, during the week/during the day.
